SMALL GROUP COACHING . AGES 10 - 19

Small-group coaching for money, goals and ideas

A supportive online coaching space where up to four young people can explore everyday money choices, build confidence, share ideas, and take small practical steps together.

This is not a class, lecture or financial advice. It is a guided space for young people to think, talk, try, reflect and move forward with a small peer group.

Who is group coaching for?

Group coaching is for young people who would benefit from a small, supportive space to explore money, choices, goals or ideas with others. It works well for those who like the energy of a group, but still need a calm space to think, ask questions, practise small steps and build confidence.

This could be a good fit for young people who:

Learn well with others

They enjoy hearing different views, sharing ideas and realising they are not the only one figuring things out.

Want practical support

They want help with everyday money choices, spending habits, saving, goals, confidence or turning ideas into action.

Prefer a small group

They may not want a full class or workshop, but they also may not need a fully private one-to-one space.

Want to take small steps

They do not need to have everything worked out. They just need to be open to thinking, trying and reflecting.

What could you explore?

Every group is shaped around the young people in it. Sessions may include money, goals, habits, confidence, choices or ideas, depending on what feels useful for the group.

Group coaching can help young people explore topics such as:

Making money last

Thinking about spending, saving, budgeting and how to make everyday money choices feel more manageable.

Spending choices and pressure

Exploring what influences spending, including friends, food, going out, online shopping, subscriptions, trends and impulse buys.

Goals and next steps

Turning a goal, idea or worry into smaller steps that feel clearer and easier to start.

Confidence with money

Building confidence to ask questions, check information, talk about money and make informed choices.

Ideas into action

Exploring side hustles, creative ideas, small projects or ways to test an idea safely and practically.

Learning from others

Hearing different perspectives, sharing what works, and realising that other young people are figuring things out too.

The focus is always age-appropriate, practical and coaching-led. Flaem does not provide financial advice or tell young people which financial products to choose.

What group coaching feels like

Group coaching at Flaem is designed to feel calm, friendly and practical. Each session is guided by a Flaem coach, with space for young people to think for themselves, hear different perspectives and choose small steps that feel realistic.

1

Small enough to feel heard

Groups are kept small, with up to four young people, so there is space to speak, listen and reflect without the pressure of a full class.

3

Shared, not competitive

The group is there for encouragement, perspective and shared learning. It is not about comparing who is “better” with money, goals or ideas.

2

Guided, not lectured

The coach helps the group explore useful questions, examples, tools or activities. Young people are supported to think things through rather than being given one-size-fits-all answers.

4

Practical, not pressured

Sessions usually end with a small next step, reflection or action. The aim is progress that feels manageable, not a big dramatic change overnight.

Young people can contribute in different ways. They can speak, listen, write things down, reflect quietly or take time before sharing. No one needs to have everything figured out before they start.

Ways to work together

Group coaching is offered as a small four-week coaching cohort. This gives young people time to explore, try small steps, reflect together and build momentum in a supportive peer group.

Arrange a small group

Parents, carers, schools, youth organisations or employers can enquire about arranging a small group for young people at a similar age or stage.

This may work well where an existing group would benefit from guided support together.

Best for: a small group arranged by a parent/carer, school, youth centre or organisation

Group size: up to 4 young people
Next step: request a free chat to discuss fit and availability

All group coaching starts with a free chat. This helps check group size, age range, topic, safeguarding considerations and whether group coaching is the right format.

A note for parents and carers

Group coaching works best when young people feel safe, respected and able to take part in a way that suits them. At Flaem, we keep groups small, guided and age-appropriate, with clear boundaries from the start.

Consent and involvement
For young people under 18, parent/carer consent is required before coaching begins. The free chat helps us understand the young person, check suitability and explain how the group would work.

Group fit matters
Groups are kept to up to four young people and are arranged with age, stage, needs and topic in mind. If group coaching does not feel like the right fit, one-to-one or family coaching may be more suitable.

Respectful group space
Young people are encouraged to listen, share kindly and respect each other’s privacy. No one is expected to share more than they feel comfortable sharing.

Clear coaching boundaries
Flaem coaching is educational and developmental. It is not financial advice, therapy, tutoring, debt advice or specialist support. If something falls outside the coaching space, we will be clear about that and may suggest seeking appropriate support elsewhere.

Confidentiality and safety
Coaching conversations are treated with care, but confidentiality has limits. If there is a concern about a young person’s safety or wellbeing, appropriate steps may need to be taken.
